Licence calculator

Price the licence before you ask for the rate.

Set the fee, then switch on only the rights the campaign actually needs. Nothing here is sent anywhere: it runs in your browser and no figure you enter leaves the page.

An estimate from the figures entered, not a quote. A real negotiation moves on leverage, this only prices the rights as stated. Paid media rights are priced per month: the total assumes boosting runs for exactly the window entered, and it keeps rising for every month it actually runs beyond that.

Where these numbers come from

The term bands and the boosting rate are taken from published industry guidance, and the file that computes them says which figure came from where. The platform weights, the exclusivity rate and the territory multipliers are conventions chosen for this model, and it says that too. A rate card that will not tell you which of its numbers are sourced is not a rate card, it is a negotiating position.

Why boosting is charged per month

Paid media is not a one-off permission. For as long as spend runs behind a piece of content it keeps reaching new people, so it is licensed monthly, and it is usually the largest single line on the invoice. Any calculator that charges it once is understating the number you will actually be asked for.

What this is not

An estimate from the figures entered, not a quote. A quote names the creator, the deliverables and the exact licence, in writing.

Rates

Every day rate on this site is the rate. What a licence adds to it is on the licence page, in full, before you ask.

Clapperfield is a demonstration template. The roster, its five creators and its four campaigns are fictional.
